ISSUE: Motor Voter

Illegal aliens have registered to Vote!

"Motor Voter" is the name of a Federal Law that was passed in the mid-90's. The intent of this law was to encourage more people to vote by making it easier for them to register to vote. This law allows states to register their citizens at the same time they receive their driver's license. On the face of it, this sounds good.

BUT - there is a problem!

When a person goes to the State Division of Motor Vehicles to obtain a driver's license, they are, at that time, given the opportunity to register to vote. The problem with this is that they only need their brand new driver's license to register to vote in OUR elections! The concern is that now, just in the state of Utah, well over 100,000 illegal aliens have received a valid Utah driver's license - and the opportunity to vote in our elections!

A partial audit conducted in Utah in 2005, determined that hundreds of illegal aliens had in fact registered to vote in Utah. A sample of these registrations revealed that some illegal aliens actually voted during the 2004 election cycle. It is a known fact that massive voter fraud has taken place in other states, such as California, affecting the outcome of elections.

To do so, it will be necessary to identify each and every driver's license applicant as a valid Utah citizen. Within the framework of our current law, this is not possible.
